Steve Norris is an accomplished Smoky Mountain artist who showcases and sells his artwork in several upscale galleries in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area along the Tennessee side of the Great Smoky Mountains.  He is also an author who has penned a strong fictional story that will appeal to mature readers who have an interest in old southern history and lore, and the intense human conflicts found there. The writing style is concise, powerful and fast-paced. Although the timeframe of the story takes place several decades later, it has been said that the writing style is a cross between Gone With The Wind and Cold Mountain.

                        The cover picture shown above is a small section of a great painting that was done by Steve’s good friend, Ron Fly, who owns the Apple Tree Gallery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It has been asked why Steve did not paint his own cover for his novel. He had considered doing so, but thought better of it when he discovered that this section of Ron’s painting fit the story so perfectly.
