What
is a GICLEE Print?
First developed in the late 1980s, a giclee (properly pronounced
zhee-clay) is an accurate digital method of printing fine art and
photographic pictures. Unlike the old offset reproductions that
can lose brilliance over time, the giclee process uses inks that
have the same quality pigments as the original paints used by the
artist. This pigmented ink is permanent, waterproof and, as tested
through scientific processes, determined to be fade resistant for
at least 100 hundred years. The stretched canvases used in this
process are the same heavy weight quality cotton duck as used in
the original work. Paper prints are on acid free high quality
archival watercolor paper. Giclee reproductions capture all the
quality of the fine art originals.
All pieces are signed and numbered by the artist.
