I have had the good fortune to watch the antics of many little
bear cubs while engaged in my numerous Smoky Mountain hikes over the
last thirty-five years. The mother bear is always nearby and never
seems to be much bothered by my presence. So I stay quiet and watch
the little guys romp and play. Like children they are driven by a
furious curiosity and are constantly active. I sometimes wonder
about the kinds of things they do when none of us humans are around
to observe. Well, here is where my imagination takes a little flight
of fancy. I hope you can appreciate and enjoy this humorous fantasy
of little bear antics as much as I do. And the next time you chance
to see a mother bear and her cubs, perhaps you can imagine something
as whimsical, or as silly, as what is demonstrated in this scene.
